Ombre might be a dying fad with the celebs, but around here it's hot! And I love the variety of colours and styles you can play around with the achieve this look.

It's an easy style to upkeep and the more it fades and grows out, the more natural it looks.

Bridal Styles

Hands down, the best part of my job is styling. Especially when I have the pleasure of doing a bridal style.

Being the age that I am, everyone around me is getting married. When a long time client, family member or friend ask me to do their hair for their wedding, I grin from ear to ear.

Nothing makes me happier than spending the morning of someone's wedding, with my hands in their hair.

Usually by the wedding day, we have gone through a few trials. So there is a type of relationship started between client and hairstylist.

Leading up to the wedding I always want to know all of it. I want to know what your dress looks like, how many bridesmaids you have (and what their dress looks like too), what your wedding song is, what the groom is like, where you're going on your honeymoon, what colour scheme you have going on, where's the reception etc...

I could curl and spray and listen to it all.

I have been told by a lot of brides that I have a very calming personality. In other words, I am good at hiding my nerves. Every time a bride is in my chair I try and imagine what is going on in her head. This is her wedding day! The most exciting day. A day she is celebrating the love she shares with her soon-to-be husband and the beginning of the best part of her life. All I can think of is a mixture of butterflies and anxiety with a huge amount of happiness.

My job that day is to keep them calm and make them look beautiful. 

When I am done my styling, I add the tiara, the veil, the flowers or broaches and just like that, she is a bride. Even if it is a client I hardly know. Every bride is glowing with happiness and I can't help but feel excited for them. That's when I know my job is done.
